Mulch, Pine Straw & Rock
Fresh mulch, pine straw or rock installed to finish a bed and hold moisture through the heat.
Mulch and pine straw do more than tidy up a bed. A fresh layer holds moisture around the roots through the Lowcountry summer, keeps weeds from taking hold, and protects beds from the heavy rain we get through hurricane season. ShoreCut installs pine straw, hardwood mulch or rock depending on what suits the property and what is already in the beds, and we edge every bed clean before anything goes down so the line between lawn and bed reads sharp. Most clients have beds refreshed once or twice a year as part of their regular service, and we also take on standalone bed refresh jobs for a property that just needs a reset. This is some of the fastest visible change we make on a property. A tired, washed out bed can look finished again in an afternoon once fresh material is down and the edges are clean.

Mulch, Pine Straw & Rock questions
How often do beds need fresh mulch or pine straw?
Most Lowcountry beds hold up well with a refresh once or twice a year, though sun exposure and rainfall can change that.
